Swirling winds exceeding 20 miles per hour and sub-50 degree temperatures thwarted the attempts of Clay and Lisa's attempts at setting new PR's. Overall we ran well, about the same as last week's race under much different conditions and a much stronger field.

RACE SUMMARY
Levi Fox was in my heat... 3:57 seed time... so I figured he would run a smart race, he's a longer distance guy so he should be steady... I went out and focused far too much on Fox, forgetting about the leaders. We crossed 400 at 66... too slow by 1-2 seconds. Still thinking fox would roll at 800m to go, I stuck with the plan of hanging with him and passing the field on the closing 800. 800m mark at 2:09, OK, not bad, would have liked to run an even 64/64 or 65/64, not so much a 66/63. No such luck. I lost touch with the lead and had to leap a fallen runner... I gathered myself and moved around the competition, but for some reason I never felt in touch with the leaders, it was a lack of focus in the beginning. I hit 1100m (400 to go) in 2:55/56... PR thoughts raced through my brain... all I had to do was run a 64 or better... last week at Marietta I finished with a 60... I was good as gold... well, not so much... I was working but nothing came of it... I was not in rhythm and finished at 4:02, 66/67 last lap... YUCK. 4:02 was not bad given the wind... a group of 4:00 milers ran a bit later and went 4:06, so conditions were legitimately not ideal. Next time, I'm keeping my focus on the lead.
