SAT: Pigskin Classic 5k

The race had a fun and competitive atmosphere. We lined up next to an Ohio State alumni who I knew would set a nice pace, and he did. We came through the mile at 4:45, the OSU guy, myself and another guy named Scott. We were should to should at the 2 mile, 9:50. The third mile had a gradual hill that put distance between the three of us, me in the middle. I let the leader go bit just a bit too much and lost a visual on the final turn, so my kick was never put into motion as I crossed the line 2nd in a hard fought 15:44. Lisa had a great race, finished in 17:34, a personal best by 28 seconds. She said she felt great the whole race. We both wore new racing shoes and agreed that they helped a fair amount.
