SAT: Chicago - Loyola Rambler 5k

We are in Chicago en route to Iowa City. We found two 5k races and chose the one that looked more competitive and fun. We couldn't have been more wrong. Less than 50 runners showed up. The only hill in Chicago happens to be an absurd mound near the Montrose Avenue Beach. The course traversed the hill three times, seemingly for no reason at all. The hill wasn't the only demoralizing part, the sand and mud (both of us sans spikes) were also a real pain. We both won handily, but we were extremely unhappy with each of our races, times and preparation. We should have gone to a road race. Next week, maybe we'll choose something better.
